Bio

Steve Pomeroy is a life-long member of Community of Christ. He was previously employed by the GPNW Mission Center as Pastor Support Minister and a Congregational Support Minister (2008-2015). He also previously served for more than 16 years as Pastor of Renton Congregation. Other areas of church service have included the Mission Center Council, the former Seattle Stake High Council, the Presidency of the Seattle Stake Elders’ Quorum, the Mission Center Design Team, the Renton Financial Oversight Committee, and a variety of other local planning and advisory committees. Steve graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in education and received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Puget Sound. After eleven years of teaching for Milwaukee (WI) Public Schools, Steve moved to the Seattle area and worked for more than 30 years as the Business Manager of a consulting engineering firm before accepting church employment. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Church Council of Greater Seattle as Treasurer and as a member of their Finance Committee. Additionally, Steve is part of an ecumenical task force working with the Business School and School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University in development of an eight-course curriculum focused on financial literacy for pastors. Within the church, Steve continues to serve in self-supporting roles as chair of the mission center’s Bold Moves Grants Committee and as a Congregational Support Minister. Steve will return to his priesthood calling of High Priest while serving as Mission Center Financial Officer. He and his wife, Mary Ann, reside in Bellevue.
