Staff Vision Statement: "Servant Ministers Sharing God's Grace and Christ's Mission"

3) Uphold Healthy Relationships: As a staff, we will provide resources and support for healthy relationships in congregations.
We will: Intervene with direct services; Refer to and consult with other resources including World Church; Train ourselves and others to build skills in conflict resolution and management, interpersonal communication, relationship building and peacemaking; Increase awareness and appreciation of diversity and inclusion.

4) Live by Mission Priorities: Mission priorities determine how we, as mission center staff, spend our time and allocate mission center resources.
We will: Set and carry out clear priorities for our ministry and help our congregations to do the same; Provide referral services to congregations to address needs through resources available from the mission center, World Church, and community; Support activities that match our mission priorities.

Mike grew up in Baker, Oregon and earned a bachelor's degree from Graceland College, a master's from Southern Oregon State College, and did administrative course work through the University of Oregon. Mike retired after 33 years in education - 11 teaching and 22 as an administrator at all levels. He coached for 20 of those years. Over the years, he has served the church in numerous roles, including pastor, district president, and on the staff of camps and Spectacular. He is married to Eleanor, and they have two adult sons, Michael and Chris. Mike is a High Priest.

Pam has served as a full-time minister in Community of Christ for 13 years, most recently as Spiritual Formation/Disciple Formation Minister for the North Central USA/Canada Mission Field. She holds the office of Evangelist. She has a masters’ in education and speech-language pathology from Wichita State University. She has completed four units of clinical pastoral education, attended seminary at Graceland University, and is currently completing her final year of spiritual director training with Christos Center of Spiritual Formation in Lino Lakes, MN. Pam has owned a private practice in speech-language pathology and worked as a certified hospital chaplain. She has served the church as Coordinator of Wholeness Ministries, providing pastoral care and support to 50 congregations, as Mission Center President for two jurisdictions, and as a bi-vocational pastor for many years. She is passionate about deepening discipleship and equipping leaders for mission. Pam and her husband, Eric, have been married for 33 years. They currently share their home with a cat named Snickle Fritz, who adopted them following hurricane Katrina. They live in the Puget Sound area.

Youth Ministries Specialist
Sean started working as a field minister for Community of Christ as our Mission Center's Assistant Director for Youth Camping in January 2012. He became the Director of Youth Camping in January 2013 and has also served as our Young Adult Ministries Specialist. Sean now serves as the Mission Center's Camping Ministries Director, Mission Coordinator, Youth Ministries Specialist, and as a Congregational Support Minister. Sean's ministerial passions include various missional endeavors, compassionate ministries to the poor, and youth ministries. He previously worked as Guardianship Support Staff for developmentally disabled adults at Share & Care House, a non-profit organization that has a long history with Community of Christ in the Puget Sound area. Sean was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and has been a lifelong Community of Christ member. Sean serves in the priesthood role of Seventy and attends Eugene Congregation. In his spare time, he enjoys going to concerts, camping, and simply laughing and visiting with friends and family.

Kim Naten is a lifelong member of Community of Christ. She grew up in the Seattle area and was an active participant in Woodland Park Congregation for many years. Kim has served as a camp counselor, camp director, and cook at various camps and reunions over the years. Kim attended Graceland College and Edmonds Community College, where she received her associate's degree in Paralegal Studies. Her professional background includes six years as our Mission Center's Membership Services Administrator/Recorder, 15 years as a legal assistant, 11 years as Administrative Assistant for the Seattle Police Department. She now works as a Legal Secretary for the Washington State Department of Health. Kim and her husband, Rick, reside in Chehalis, WA. They have two grown children, Taylor and Katherine.

Christie is a native Oregonian, growing up on the central coast. She received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Linfield College and a master's in social work from Portland State University School of Social Work. Christie worked as a psychotherapist for 32 years in mental health clinics, adolescent residential treatment centers, school and hospital settings, as well as in group and private practice. She is a Seventy. Christie was employed by the Church from 2002-2015 and now serves as a self-sustaining Congregational Support Minister. She has worked in youth ministry for 40 years in various leadership positions on congregational, district, regional and mission center levels. Christie and her husband, Kent Wheeler, live in Portland, Oregon and attend Garden Grove Congregation. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.

Steve Pomeroy is a life-long member of Community of Christ. He was previously employed by the GPNW Mission Center as Pastor Support Minister and a Congregational Support Minister (2008-2015). He also previously served for more than 16 years as Pastor of Renton Congregation. Other areas of church service have included the Mission Center Council, the former Seattle Stake High Council, the Presidency of the Seattle Stake Elders’ Quorum, the Mission Center Design Team, the Renton Financial Oversight Committee, and a variety of other local planning and advisory committees. Steve graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in education and received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Puget Sound. After eleven years of teaching for Milwaukee (WI) Public Schools, Steve moved to the Seattle area and worked for more than 30 years as the Business Manager of a consulting engineering firm before accepting church employment. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Church Council of Greater Seattle as Treasurer and as a member of their Finance Committee. Additionally, Steve is part of an ecumenical task force working with the Business School and School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University in development of an eight-course curriculum focused on financial literacy for pastors. Within the church, Steve continues to serve in self-supporting roles as chair of the mission center’s Bold Moves Grants Committee and as a Congregational Support Minister. Steve will return to his priesthood calling of High Priest while serving as Mission Center Financial Officer. He and his wife, Mary Ann, reside in Bellevue.

Blake Puckett was baptized into Community of Christ (RLDS) in 1955 and spent his formative years in Tulsa, Oklahoma attending Tulsa Central Congregation. After graduating from Graceland University in 1969, he moved to the Seattle area where he started teaching in Edmonds and eventually retired from school administration in 2000. Since moving to Washington, Blake has attended Crystal Springs Congregation from its formation. He has served as Stake Youth Coordinator, Pastor at Crystal Springs, was a member of the Seattle Stake High Council, and served as a counselor to three Seattle Stake Presidents. Blake is married to Vicki Puckett and has two children and two grandchildren.

Kathy is deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest and the mission of Community of Christ here. She grew up in Port Angeles, Washington. She earned her bachelor's degree from Graceland University (Iowa) and her master's degree from Inter American University (Puerto Rico). Originally an English teacher, Kathy shifted to public affairs and human resource positions in academia and business. Prior to becoming a full-time minister, Kathy was a business consultant working with clients to communicate and manage change. She was an active volunteer in her professional association, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). Kathy was lay pastor of Crystal Springs Congregation and a member of the World Church Investment Committee for four years. She enjoys visiting and preaching throughout the Mission Center. Kathy served as President of the GPNW Mission Center from 2007-2015. Since moving back to the West Coast in 1982, Kathy and her family have been members of Crystal Springs Congregation in Bothell, Washington. Kathy and her husband, Lynn, love to spend time with their three grown children and their grandchildren. Kathy is a High Priest.

Christian graduated from Graceland University with a master's degree in religion. He has had a rich work history that includes Peace Corps service in Ukraine, labor union advocacy in Seattle, GPNW Mission Center Mission Coordinator, Learning Officer, Congregational Support Minister, and President of the Europe Mission Center. Christian is currently working “harder than ever” as a full-time father and as a self-sustaining Congregational Support Minister. A life-long member of Community of Christ, Christian grew up in Arizona. He holds the office of Elder and attends Woodland Park Congregation in Seattle with his partner, Christie, and their three daughters.

John took early retirement after 27 years from Intel Corporation, after holding several engineering and operational management positions. Over the next five years, John provided volunteer ministry as Redmond Congregation pastor, member of the Jericho Road Board of Directors, Crooked River Ranch Board of Directors, and for three years, provided half-time paid ministry support for the GPNW Mission Center as Congregatinal Support Minister and Mission Coordinator. In 2011, John went back to full-time work for TriQuint Semiconductor as the Bend, Oregon general manager for the research and development facility located at this site. John left TriQuint for his second attempt at retirement in 2014. John has attended University of Portland (electrical engineering), University of California (engineering management) and MIT (engineering management). John lives in Crooked River Ranch in Central Oregon with his wife, Ruth. They attend Redmond Congregation. John and Ruth are avid golfers.

Val Walker Val Walker

Val, a High Priest, and her husband, Ken, a Seventy, lived and served Indianapolis Congregation and the Kentucky-Indiana Mission Center for 25 years. They have two grown children. Val was pastor for Indianapolis for nine years, and completed the Community of Christ Co-Missioned Pastor Initiative. During that time, she led her congregation through significant changes, including its relocation and its new outreach ministries within its neighborhood. She also served as a Congregational Support Minister within the Leading Congregations in Mission pilot. Valerie has a master's degree in Health Sciences Education from Indiana University.
